Contrary to popular belief, that’s not an easy thing—but the authors in the soon-to-be-released Shades of AMBW: Asian Man, Black Woman Short Story Collection (published by Love Journey Book) share flash fiction as well as shorter microfiction stories featuring Asian men and Black women.

I love the Asian Men Black Women Interracial Romance genre and I also love short stories. Shades of AMBW is a fun way for new and experienced writers to come together and add to the AMBW literary world. Besides being an excellent collaboration opportunity, the challenge of writing micro-fiction and flash-fiction is a great creative exercise. I am always looking for new and inventive ways to grow.

The last AMBW short story collection I remember was published in 2008, Honey Flava by Zane. What has never been done is AMBW microfiction, flash fiction, or a collection by various authors. Now it has! – Love Journey

I am extremely honored that Spivey selected two stories I submitted to be a part of this collection. I was initially daunted by the idea of attempting to write a story with such limited page space. Just fine-tuning description without resorting to an onslaught of telling was quite a strain on my skillsets, but I did find it beneficial in expanding my writing acumen.
